As mentioned in Friday’s post, we got up early Saturday morning and headed to Digby for the day. We ended up taking the “county way”, turning a long drive into a longggggggg ass drive. We decided to drive through Wolfville and stopped into their farmers market – it was seriously one of the best I’ve been to! It’s crazy the amount of amazing local vendors they have. After grabbing a snack, we finished the drive to Digby and went right downtown to explore. By explore I mean find someone to eat because it was after 1 by the time we got there and we were both famished. We settled on Fundy Restaurant and ordered just about every type of seafood on the menu. Every item was fresh, nicely cooked and delicious plus their patio has an amazing view over the water.
After our stomachs were jammed packed with seafood, we took a quick walk along the waterfront before heading to The Balance Rock as per the recommendation of our waitress. The walk there after our big meal felt great … that was until we got to the stairs portion. I kid you not, there must been about 300+ waiting for us! At first it was a breeze because you walk down them to get to the balance rock but do not ask me about the walk back as I was two seconds away from cardiac arrest I swear. We both need about a five minute rest before continuing along our way.
To be honest, I was semi disappointed. I remember getting to the bottom of the stairs, turning left and thinking “really?!“. Don’t get me wrong the view was absolutely stunning but it’s one of those things were seeing it once is definitely enough.
After we were both able to breathe again, we hopping on two ferries and landing in Brier Island. The look on both of our faces was hysterical because the island is literally one street. Pretty sure we hopped off the ferry, looped around and caught the same one back across!
