Happy Monday everyone!
Last Thursday I had the amazing opportunity of attending a press opening of the new Sport Chek store located in the Halifax Shopping Centre. The evening was pure bliss and definitely what I needed after a long week of work! It’s always a fun time hanging with a great group of ladies who share the same passion for engaging our following with local events. In typical Kerri fashion, I showed up to the event straight from the office in heels and a dress #ops. Thankfully, the amazing ladies from Sport Chek’s PR had an fantastic evening planned for us that would take care of that!
Your Better Starts Here.
Four simple words that can change lives. It’s short. It’s to the point. It’s encouraging. It’s a kind suggestion that we hope triggers a response in Canadians, making people from all walks of life realize how easy a life-change can be. – Sport Chek
You guys, their new store is amazing. Clean, organized and jam packed with top of the line electronics to make your shopping experience that much better. We started off with a store tour provided by the Manager and Assistant Manager. I was glad they were the ones to show us the grounds rather than someone from HO because it was truly great to see their excitement for the store and how it’s going to enhance the in-store shopping experience for their customers. With so many companies and consumers focusing solely with online shopping, Sport Chek is taking the complete opposite approach and encouraging their customers to stop in, speak with their sales employees and get a really great active experience with shopping in store.
What’s great about Sport Chek is that their employees are trained and dedicated to specific categories and those only. Let’s say you go here to get your mountain bike fixed, rest assured that whoever is handling your bike has been thoroughly trained and educated on providing you with the safest results.
Not only are their employees extremely knowledgeable about all of the brands they carry, but they also have hands on customer experiences as well. Did you know they have a wall of headphones that you can actually plug your own phone/ipod into to see that it sounds like? Most stores just give you a playlist to get samples from but to be able to listen to your own playlists before spending over $200 on a pair of headphones is a great feature! Also take their Fitting Centre for example, here you have the chance to test out whatever brand of golf clubs that have sparked your interest. If all else fails, it’s the perfect way to relieve some stress!
Please note my missed swing below 😉

Perhaps you’re an outdoors-y type of person who is thinking “Okay Kerri, enough with the running sneakers. Show me something I can utilize in the woods!”. You got it! Lucky enough for you, Sport Chek’s new store at HSC is one of the few to house a Atmosphere store as well! Here you can find yourself the perfect pair of hiking boots, dehydrated food (!!!), camping utensils and even backpacks.
After an amazing tour and learning more about Sport Chek itself as a whole company, we ventured to the back of the store to try on articles of clothing from some of the great brands they carry. I’m sure you can imagine the craziness putting 6 ladies in front of a rack filled with workout clothes and shoes, it was a laugh for sure!
There was also a table filled with delicious snacks to get ourselves prepared for a great workout! They had fresh juices from The Juice Press Inc (I opted for the Knock Out, it was absolutely delicious and gave me SO much energy!), Bounce bars and Made with Local bars that I love! It was so fun to chat with the other girls and get each others opinions on what top paired with certain pants. Who would’ve thought that it could be so much fun to style workout gear?!
After changing into our new gear, we were whisked off to Cyclone Group Fitness for their cycle + spin class, in a limo of course! Not going to lie, I’ve never attended a spin class before and my working out has definitely been lacking lately so I was a bit terrified but to my surprise, it was SO much fun.
