I can’t help but LOL at the title of this post because A) I’m over the fact that we now have a “Holiday” for just about everything and B) I gag at the thought of tequila. Ever see that meme where it’s a gif of someone gagging with “When you smell a certain type of alcohol and it reminds you of the time you almost died”? That is me with tequila. One of my girlfriends absolutely loves it so every time we would go out, chances are we were doing a few shots of tequila and now I can barely SAY the word I despise it that much. Luckily though, my feelings are just towards the alcohol straight because I do love me some tequila sours and sunrises!
If you’re following me on Instagram, you’ll know that a few weeks ago I was sent a box of Sparkling Ice to try out. One of my coworkers actually got me hooked on them above a year and a half ago so I was already a big fan of their waters but I’ve only tried a few of the flavors. I despise pop and can only drink plain sparkling water to an extent so it’s nice to have a flavorful change once in awhile!
In honor of National Tequila Day, I wanted to share with you a delicious tequila sunrise recipe that my mom and I tested out this weekend with a Sparkling Ice twist!
SPARKLING TEQUILA SUNRISE:
2 oz. orange juice
2 oz. tequila
½ oz. grenadine
Fill a tall glass with ice cubes, then the orange juice, and tequila. Top with Sparkling Ice Orange Mango and grenadine, then garnish with a maraschino cherry and orange slice and serve.
Happy Monday and please, drink responsibly!
